Man Observes Elderly Woman’s Routine Swoops In When She’s Outside And Makes Headlines
Some people seem to have all of the luck in the world. They spend their entire lives eating healthy, exercising and most of the time, it pays off. They live into their late 90’s (or beyond!). Most of the time, it’s pretty common to see these elderly folks thriving in an independent life outside of a nursing home!
One sweet older woman from Alabama is proof that reaching your twilight years doesn’t mean you have to trade your ability to role solo! This 93-year-old lived in her very own house (all by herself without a medical team) and loved every second of it. She wouldn’t have it any other way. But, there was always a nagging thought in the back of her head: was living alone at this age a smart idea?
Unfortunately, there are some people in our world who finds horrible ways to prey on seniors. Some steal identities, others talk them out of fortunes amassed over a lifetime. Even though she didn’t think she needed someone to look over her shoulder, two men were eagerly awaiting a chance to approach the lonely woman.
Her next door neighbors had been carefully observing the 93-year-old’s routine for some time. Then they decided to step make one move that would change her life forever.
When Rodney Smith Jr. and his best friend, Terrence Stroy, spotted an elderly woman heaving her lawn mower from one end of the property to the other, they weren’t interested in doing something nefarious. Instead, they quickly rushed to her yard and offered their youthful assistance.
“We did this sweet lady’s lawn today. She is 93, the neighbors told us that she been out their trying to cut her own lawn. Have no fear, raising men lawn care is going to make sure her lawn is done every two weeks! Making a difference in our community!”
Even though the elderly woman wanted to keep her name anonymous, the 93-year-old undoubtedly appreciated their help.
The men, two university students, attending school nearby knows that education is the most important thing in life. But, despite their passion for school and their full course load, they made sure to block off time for the less fortunate.
Inspired by their one good deed, the men created a multi-state lawncare business catering to those in need. The best part is the men don’t charge a cent for their hard work.
“I thought I needed to do something about it. That’s when I decided to cut lawns for the elderly, disabled and single mothers for free.”
Rodney’s charitable lawn care organization, Raising Men Lawn Care Service, aims to go beyond trimming yards for free. He also wants to foster an environment where boys and girls can feel a sense of accomplishment. That’s why he tasks them caring for these lawns – it’s one step closer to the children becoming productive, caring young adults.
Wow, Rodney’s have given so much back to his community. He’s truly a visionary. Not only is he an honorable young man for mowing the lawns in the first place, but he’s also more than generous for helping young people make a positive difference in our world.
